Sarah said...

"Need some help?" I heard a girl ask as I tore down the last poster. I turned around. It was Lindsey. I just shook my head no and threw away all of the old posters.
"Okay then. Just trying to help." She said in a bitchy tone.
"We just received a big shipment of shirts." Brody said to me peaking out the door.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. I walked back and there were a bunch of big boxes surrounding Kevin's office. I grabbed a pocket knife and cut one open.
"Am I getting the silent treatment?" Brody asked as he opened up a box.
"No." I said with annoyance.
"Can we hang out tonight?" He asked.
"No."
"Why?"
"I need to focus on my relationship with Chris." I said.
"He doesn't want you to hang out with me?" He asked.
"He doesn't care." I said.
"Bull shit." He said laughing.
"Shut up." I said. "It's not him. I don't want to."
"What is goin on with you?" He asked.
"I'm back to my normal self." I said. "Things were rough for a short amount of time, but I am better now. No more outbursts. Except for maybe on you, but that would be normal right?"
"Blair, we use to hang out all the time." He said.
"I know."
"So, things are not back to normal." He said. "Otherwise we would be laying down in the grass at the school at 3am looking at the stars and talking about our dreams."
"We're not in high school anymore, Brody." I said.
"We weren't in high school when we did that." He said looking hurt.
"You know what I mean. We're growing up." I said.
"Maybe I'm not ready for that. Growing up. Fuck that." He said with a smirk on his face.
I giggled. "You can still call me at 2 in the morning when you have your cookie monster nightmares."
He laughed, "Shut up."
"Did those go away?" I asked.
"No. I was up all last night." He said.
"You should have called me." I said.
"Nah. It's not like you'd meet me at the park or something anymore." He said.
"You don't know that." I said.
"Seems to me that you think Chris is all you need and all that needs you." He said.
"I do not think that." I said.
"When was the last time you called your Mom?" He asked.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"I'm sorry. You just need to realize other people need you too." He said.
"I do. It's different with her." I said.
"Well, I'm not talking about her anyway. . ." He said.
"I know." I said. "You just need to stop pissing me off."
"You haven't exactly ben the greatest friend either. . ." He said sounding like he was afraid to say it out loud.
"I know." I said.
"You're still willing to save me from Cookie Monster?" He asked.
"Of course." I giggled.
He laughed. "He was chasing me with a knife last night."
"Awww." I said smiling.
"Don't laugh." He said. "Then I got up to get a towel, cause I was sweatin' a little and I looked up at the front window and I thought I was his shadow walk by outside. I jumped like 5 feet in the air."
"Aww." I said trying not to laugh.
He squinted his eyes giving me an evel stare.
"What?" I asked.
He smiled and I started laughing.
"Just wait till he is haunting you in your dreams, then showing up at your house." He said.
