Chapter Thirteen

"Hey. How was Deathcab?" I asked Brody while we both clocked in.
"Deathcab was great. The rest of the night was hell." He said.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"It's okay. I never want to see Lindsey again! She embarassed the hell out of me." He said.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I'll tell you later." He said when Lindsey walked in the back.
"Hi Blair." She said to me.
"Hey. Enjoy the show?" I asked.
"No!" She said, and stormed by Brody.
"Okay then. I have work up front." I said, and walked out.
"Blair!" Jake said when he saw me.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Can you take the counter today?" He asked.
"Sure." I said.
"Just until lunch. Then I want to go over some more finance stuff with you." He said, and smiled.
"Great. I can't wait." I told him, and walked behind the register.
The rest of the day went pretty smoothly. I never got a chance to talk to Brody about the concert. When his shift was over, he just left. I was surprized to see Chris when I walked out of the store to go home. He was standing at my car.
"Hey." He said, and hugged me.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"Don't be mad at me." He said.
"Why would I be mad at you?" I asked. He handed me manilla file folder. I opened it up and read the first page.

Belinda April Jones

It was my mom's name. Below her name was her phone number and address were listed. I started to cry.
"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have done that. It just seems like you are ready, but just too afraid to talk to her. So I looked her up." He said.
"Two towns." I said.
"What?" He asked.
"TWO TOWNS? SHE IS ONLY TWO TOWNS AWAY?" I shouted. He shrugged.
"What do I do know?" I asked.
"That's up to you. I just want you to know that what ever you decide to do, I'll be here." He said.
"Can you drive me home. I can't drive." I said, wiping my eyes.
"Of course." He said, and hugged me. I started to cry more.
"Lets get some gillato." He said, and I smiled.
"Okay." I said. We got in his car and he drove to a shop down the street. When we got there my phone rang. I answered it while Chirs ordered for us.
"Blair!" Sage shouted on the other side.
"Hey bro. How are you?" I asked him.
"Pretty good. How are you?" He asked.
"I'm okay. Whats up?"
"I just found out I got accepted for the California Pharmaceutical's internship!" He said, excitedly.
"What? Really?" I asked.
"Yeah!" He said.
"That is awesome!" I told him. He was always the really smart one out of the three of us kids. I always laughed when I thought of what people must think of his name.
"Yeah. I thrilled." He said.
"Hey. Can ask you something?" I asked him.
"Yeah, sure." He said.
"A friend of mine located mom." I said. He didn't say anything. He took her leaving the hardest.
"Are you going to see her?" He asked.
"I don't know." I said.
"If you do I think we should all go." He told me.
"Yeah. Let me see what Rain thinks." I said.
"Okay. Call me later." He said. "Bye."
"Bye." I said, and hung up. Chris sat down at the table with me and handed me a huge wafflecone full of chocolate and cherry gillato.
"Holy shit!" I said, looking at it.
"It's good." He said.
"It's huge!" I told him, and he laughed.
"Just eat it!"
