When I got to work the next morning Brody met me in the back. He had coffee for me from my favorite cafe, which was completely out of the way for him. "Brody! You didn't have to do that." I told him. "It's nothing." He said, and shrugged. "Thanks." I told him, and took it from him. I took a sip and it was delishious. "God that is so good." I moaned. "Save that thought for later." Brody said, and put his arms around me. It made me laugh. "You think pretty highly of yourself." I told him. He just shrugged. "You ready for Saturday?" He asked me. "Yeah. I think it sounds great." I told him. "It is. I think you'll like them." He told me. Lukas walked in the back and Brody pretended like he was tucking my tag in, and not hugging me. "Ther you go sweetcheeks." He said, and left. I laughed. "Hey, where did you go last night?" Lukas asked, rubbing his head. "Oh, I had to leave early." I told him. "Too bad. I was having a good time talking to you." He said. "Sorry. I wasn't feeling well." I lied. "Are you feeling better?" He asked. "Better then you look." I said, and he cracked up. I think saying something funny caught him off guard. I just laughed and took my coffee up front. I set it down behind the counter, and then walked out to see what CD's needed to be stocked. Lukas walked out and started counting one of the cash drawers. I was thinking about how much fun it would be to work with him on the registers the whole next week. "Stare much?" Lindsey asked. "What?" I asked, startled. "Staring at Lukas?" She asked. "NO. I just zoned out." I told her. "Liar." She said. "Don't waste too much time, he likes me." "Yeah, don't worry about that." I told her. "Why?" She asked. "Nothing." I said, and walked away. I didn't feel like dealing with her bitchy attitude. Brody walked by with a handful of sale cd's, and pinched my butt. "Bastard!" I said. He shrugged, winked, then kept walking. I just laughed and walked up to Lukas at the counter. "So, you and Lindsey?" I asked him. "What?" He asked, looking disgusted. "She said you like her." I said, and winked at him. "NO! I don't know where the fuck she got that idea!" He said. "Come on, she is cute." I said. "Cute doesn't make up for bitch." He said, and I laughed. Lindsey looked up at us, scowled, then went back to what she was doing. She couldn't hear what we were saying, but I was pretty sure she knew what we were talking about. "We are mean." I said. "Not as mean as her." He said. "Excuse me." A man said, and tapped me on the shoulder. "Yes?" I asked. "Where is your Jazz?" He asked me. "Right over here." I said, and showed him the section. I helped him pick out the CD's he wanted. "Thank you." He said, and went up front to check out.
