I starting dozing off and jumped when I heard a light knock on my door.
"Didn't mean to scare you." Chris said smiling. "Do you wanna go grab dinner with me?"
"Yeah, sure." I said. I put my book down and stood up. I stretched my arms and yawned. He walked in and closed the door. He walked over to me. "Does Brody have to come?" He asked.
"It would be kind of rude if we just left without him. Don't you think?" I said.
He shrugged his shoulders.
"Chris!" I giggled.
He smiled. "Yeah, I guess."
"We'll watch some Friends in your room when we get back." I said smiling.
"Okay." He said.
"Come on."
We walked out to the living room where Brody was reading a Spiderman Comic book. "We're gonna go get something to eat. You want to join us?" I asked.
"Yeah. Sure." He said.
It felt awkward to have both of them around at the same time now.
"Oh, hey Brody. Are you gonna head out to The Max tomorrow night for that comic book thing?" Chris asked him.
"Yeah. I go every year." He answered.
"Cool. Mind if I tag along?" Chris asked.
"Not at all. I wasn't too sure how I would get there anyway." Brody laughed.
"I can drive." Chris said.
"Cool." Brody said with a smile as he put his hands in his pockets.
We all just kind of stood there for a few minutes. It was really weird.
"Okay." I said giggling. "Pizza?"
"That sounds fine." Brody said.
I looked at Chris and he nodded. We all hopped into Chris' little pickup truck and went to Ray's Pizza Kitchen. I sat down at a both while Chris and Brody ordered.
Chris walked back to the booth with three drinks and sat down next to me. He put his hand on my leg and looked at me smiling. "Brody went to the bathroom." He said.
"Okay." I smiled.
I looked over and saw Brody had started playing pacman on one of the arcades. I laughed. Chris just looked at him. "What's wrong?" I asked him.
"Nothing." He smiled. "I'm good." He scooted down a little and layed back in the seat.
"Just making sure." I said.
He just smiled. Brody walked back over to us and sat down across from me. "I sucked." He said.
I laughed. "You always do."
He gave me an annoyed look. "I kick ass at pacman, baby doll. Don't you forget that." He said.
I rolled my eyes and felt him tap my foot with his. He smiled at me.
A man walked over to us and set down a large pizza. "Thanks." I told him. We all took a slice. Brody started sprinkling a ton of parmesan cheese on his.
"That is so gross." I told him.
Chris laughed.
"You've never even tried it." Brody told me.
"Yes I have." I said.
"You have not tried it." Chris said laughing. "She refuses to."
"I know she's fibbin." Brody said.
I just laughed.
When Brody finished his slice of pizza, he ran over to the pacman machine again. "What a dork." I said.
Chris laughed.
"You're being awfully quiet, mister." I said to him.
"I'm a little tired, that's all." He sighed.
"Well, wake up. We've got some Friends to watch." I giggled.
He smiled and put his hand back on my leg.
"Okay." He said.
