Chapter Nineteen

When Chris got home he had a bouquet of flowers in his hands.
"Who are those for?" I asked him.
"For you." He said, and gave them to me. "I figured they would cheer you up if it didn't go well, and just make you happier if things did go well." He said, and handed them to me.
"Red roses." I said, and smelled them.
"I know it's kind of a weird flower to buy as just a cheer up gift for a friend, but I know they are your favorite." He said.
"Chris, you are so sweet." I said, and stood up and hugged him.
"So, how did it go?" He asked. I walked to the kitchen and started putting the flowers in a vase.
"It went good. Great actually. She's in rehab, but she'll be out in a couple days. We have a half brother!" I told him.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yeah. That's why she left. She fell in love with another man and had his baby." I told him.
"Oh." He said.
"Anyway, she is going to call us when she is out." I told him.
"That is great, he said, and walked into the kitchen. He put his arms around me and hugged me.
"What do you say we celebrate tonight? We'll go out to the Sushi place you like and drink Saki." He said. I giggled.
"When I drink saki, I try to speak Japanese." I said.
"I know, and it is one of the cutest things I've ever seen." He said, and kissed my neck.
"Okay. I think it's a great idea." I told him, and turned around so I was facing him.
"Thank you for everything Chris. You always know exactly what to do in any situation. It's amazing." I said.
He just shrugged, and kissed me. I laughed, and then pulled away and ran to my room.
"Hey! Where are you going?" He yelled.
"TO CHANGE!" I shouted. SushiRa was a nice place, and I wanted to look good. I got dressed, put my hair up, and came back out.
"Gorgeous." He said, and I smiled.
"Same to you." I said. He had changed into a black button up shirt and some nice jeans.
"Ready?" He asked.
"ABSOLUTELY!" I shouted, and linked my arm in his.
On the way to SushiRa we listened to Kung Fu Fighting over and over again. Chris would start laughing and screw up the lyrics.
"EVERYBODY WAS KUNG FU FIGHTING!" He shouted at the top of his lungs in a high pitched girly voice. I was laughing so hard, by the time we got to the restaurant I had tears in my eyes.
