"What is this?" Brody asked as he pulled away from me. "Me being brave enough to try something new. . ." I said. He smiled. "Okay." "Please don't get jelous of what Chris and I have." I said. "I don't know if I can promise you that." He said. "I mean, you live with the guy." "I know." I said. "I guess you'll just have to trust me." He just nodded. "Have I ever given you any reason to not trust me?" I asked. "No." He said shaking his head. "I've never cheated on anyone. I havn't even slept with anyone while I've been sleeping with Chris. Even though we weren't exactly anything official." I explained. "I still would have felt bad." "I know." He said. "I'm not going to end anything with Chris though yet." I said. "Why?" "Because I don't feel there is any reason to end it. We can try this if you want." I said pointing to me and then him. "But, we have no idea what's going to happen, so until I'm like really dating someone. . . you see what I'm saying?" "So I have to compete?" He asked. "No." I sighed. "I guess I'm not explaining myself very well." "I understand that you wouldn't want to end it if you're not dating someone, but if we were seeing where things go with us, wouldn't we be dating?" He asked. "Let's just see what happens. Let me deal with Chris." I said. "If we're sleeping together, you probably shouldn't be sleeping with him." He said. "We're not going to be sleeping together, Brody." I said. He got a look of disapointment on his face. "When I say, see where things go. . . I mean a relationship. I already told you I'm not going to make the same mistake I made with Chris again, with someone else." I said. "Okay." He said. "What exactly are you wanting from me?" I asked. "Everything." He said. I smiled. He laughed nervously. "I guess it's always been you in the back of my mind. Even when I was with Sherrie." He explained. "Really?" He smiled. "Yeah." I layed back on the futon smiling. He shifted around and looked at me. "Okay, so what do we do?" He asked. I sat up. "Take me out." I said. "Where?" He asked. "I don't know." I said. "Just take me out." "Tonight?" He asked. I laughed. "No, silly. I mean like on a date." "A date. . ." He said. "I'm going to see a local band called Marlow on Saturday." "Sounds like fun." I said standing up. I picked up my purse. "Where are you going?" He asked. "Home." I said. "Okay. . ." He said. "Goodnight." I said smiling. "Goodnight. . . I guess." He said. I rolled my eyes. "I'm not easy." He laughed. "I know that." "All you're going to be getting from me is kisses." I said. He smiled. "Fine with me." "See you at work tomorrow." I said. "Okay." He said. I left the house and drove back to my apartment. I didn't see Chris and all the lights were out, so I assumed her went to bed. I went to my bedroom and closed the door. I undressed and climbed into my bed. I rolled over and felt something hard next to my elbow. I pushed it. "Oh my god!" I heard Chris shout. "I am so sorry." I said laughing. "I didn't know you were in here! I thought I was pushing my book off my bed." "It's okay." He said taking a deep breath. "What are you doing?" I asked. "I heard you leave. I just wanted to make sure you were okay." He said. "I'm good." I said. He layed back down. I curled up next to him and we both fell asleep.
