"You are so drunk." Chris whispered to me. I layed down on top of him on the couch. "Dinner was delish." I giggled. He laughed. "Yes it was." "The itzy bitzy spider went up the water spout." I sang in a baby voice as I used my fingers to crawl up his stomach like a spider. "Down came the rain and washed the spider out. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain and the itzy bitzy spider climbed up the spout again." "Have I ever told you how adorable you are?" He asked smiling. I shrugged. "Maybe a few people." He made a grunt noise. "If it weren't for you, I'd probably still be going to that club and boxing and getting beat up." I smiled. "You ever won?" "I won a lot." He said. "But that doesn't mean I never got hurt." "I'd like to see you all sweaty in the ring. That would be really hot." I said, then felt embarassed. He blushed. "You have been acting so bashful lately." I giggled. "I can't help it." He said. I heard my phone ringing in my purse. I got up and ran to my phone, answering it quickly. "Question." I heard Brody say. "What's that, poopy pants?" I asked giggling. "Why him?" He asked. "Brody, are you okay?" I asked. "Why Chris?" He asked. I looked at Chris laying on the couch shirtless and staring at the ceiling. "Hold on a second." I said, then took the phone away from my ear resting it on my chest. "I'm going to step outside for a second." I told Chris. He smiled and sat up. "I'll be in my room." He said. "Okay." I said. I went outside and sat down against the wall next to the door of my apartment. "It wasn't something I planned." I told Brody. "I know you were upset about your breakup, but why did you go to him instead of me?" He asked. "I told it wasn't planned. I didn't have this plan to start sleeping with one of my friends. It just happen." I explained. "How?" He asked. I tried to gather my thoughts, but I had trouble considering I had had a lot to drink. I thought about the night we first hooked up and it made me smile. "How?" He asked again. "I came home from work after a shitty day." I said. "Chris was making dinner for us. We sat in bed talking, we watched some tv. We talked some more and started to get into a really deep personal conversation." "And he put a move on his depressed friend?" He asked. "No. I kissed him and it led to more." I said. I heard him sigh. "What if I was there?" "I have no idea." I said. "But I've been meaning to ask you about something." "What?" "You kissed me when you were drunk." I said. "Then you apologized telling me it was a mistake, then you come over to my place totally sober and kissed me again. Then you acted pissed off at the convention because I was still sleeping with Chris." "So." "So, what's going on?" I asked. "I guess it's just that I have nobody." He said. "You mean you're not getting laid?" I asked. "I guess." "I'm never making the mistake of sleeping with a friend again." I said. "It's not going to be an easy thing when it ends." "Okay." "Anyway, I'm beat. I'm gonna go to bed. I'll see you at work in the morning." I said. "Kevin changed you back to the afternoon shift." He said. "For like a week." "Was he planning on telling me?" I asked frustrated. "Well, I've got a full shift for the next week." He said. "Why don't I?" I asked. "I need the money. I don't want to be working part time again." "It's just for a week." He said. I started to remember how much Brody needed money, so I tried not to get frustrated. "Alright. Well, see ya tomorrow at lunch time." I said. "Goodnight." He said and hung up. "Damnit!" I shouted.
