I got out of my car and slammed the door. I was so pissed! Brody and I got stuck closing as well, so we were there all day. Everyone had decided to call in that day. I swear, Brody and I were the only ones anyone could rely on there! I walked up the three flights of stairs to my apartment. I didn't feel like searching through my purse for my apartment key, so I continiously banged on the door waiting for Chris to open it. "Whoa, hold on!" I heard him shout. He opened the door. "Sorry." I said. I walked in, threw my purse on the coffee table and stormed into my bedroom. "Blair?" Chris said. He walked into my room as I was sitting down on my bed. "I just talked to Brody. He's gonna come over with some movies. We're just gonna hang out and have a few beers." He said. "Do you wanna join us?" "I COULD use a beer." I said. He sat down next to me. "Quicky before he gets here?" He asked. I layed back on the bed. "I don't feel like it." I said. "Alright." He said being silly. "Fine." I laughed. Chris and I were good friends for the past few years. We were both 24 and we shared the same birthday. He was a very sarcastic person. It was never easy to have a serious conversation with him. For the most part though, he did know when it was innapropriate to be sarcastic. "Wait." I said as he was walking out the doorway. He turned around smiling. "Nevermind. Maybe later." I said. "You are not nice." He said. "You get the little mister all excited and shoot him down just like that!" He snapped his fingers. I laughed. "Did you tell Brody we've been sleeping together?" He asked. "No. . ." "I thought you guys told eachother everything?" He said. "We pretty much do." I said. "So, why havn't you told him about us?" He asked. "There isn't really an US." I said. "You know what I mean." He said. "I don't know." "He still like you?" He asked. "No!" I said. "Geez. Quit asking me that all the time!" "Sorry." He said holding up his hands. "He doesn't, Chris." I said. "Okay." I got up. "I'll be out in a few." I said as I grabbed the doorknob. "Alright." He said. He walked away and I closed the door. I locked it and undressed. I hopped in the shower. When I was done, I dried off and put on my white wife-beater and my little pink gym shorts that I wore to bed all the time. I threw my hair up in a bun and put on a little mascara. My hair and eyelashes were a really light blonde color, so I rarely went anywhere without mascara on. I decided to put on some pink lipgloss too. I stepped into my punk fluffly slippers and went out to the living room. "I'm making some pizza rolls. You want any?" Chris asked from the kitchen. "Sure." I said as I fell back onto the couch. "Ice cream?" He asked. "No thanks." He walked over and sat down next to me on the couch. He started flipping through the channels. He sighed and looked at me. "It just seems weird that you don't want to tell him." He said. "Chris, drop it for now okay?" I said. "Are you ashamed?" He asked. "No." "I don't get it, Blair." He said. "Why do you want him to know so bad?" I asked. "You spend a lot of time with the guy." He said. "Are you jelous?" I asked. "Because if you are starting to feel any type of jelously, then this needs to stop right now." "No." He said. "Sorry I brought it up." I didn't beleive him, but I didn't feel like getting into it. I went to the kitchen and opened a Bud Light. "Beer?" He asked. "Yes." "Wow. Goin hardcore tonight hu?" He said. I smiled. "Yeah." I ussually drank Wine Coolers or something of that sort. I rarely drank beer. He put his hand on my leg and pulled it off quickly when there was a knock at the door. He jumped up and walked to the door. He opened it and Brody walked in. He had a plastic Kmart bag in his hand. He walked over to me and set it down on the coffee table in front of me. "Pick a movie, babydoll." He said smiling. He kissed the top of my head. "Feeling better?" "I'm okay." I said. He laughed and sat down next to me. He put his arm around me and pulled me close to him. "Cheer up." He said. He leaned down. "I brought Debbie Does Dallas." He whispered. I started laughing. "You are so stupid." I said. Chris sat back down on the other side of me. "I can't beleive you even own that movie." I told him. "It's a classic." He said. "What is?" Chris asked. "Debbie Does Dallas." He told him. Chris laughed. "Yeah. Definatly a classic." Brody threw his hand up behind me and Chris gave him a high-five. "Ugh. Men." I said. "Ugh. Girls!" Brody said grabbing my side where it tickled the most. "Stop!" I giggled. "I'll be right back." Chris said. He got up and walked down the hall. "Seriously, stop." I whispered to Brody in a very serious tone. "Why?" He asked. "I'll tell you later." I said. Brody put in Dazed & Confused. Chris came back out a few minutes later and sat back down as the movie was starting. He looked at me and I smiled. He smiled back and I felt a whole lot better. I dozed off several times during the movie. When it was over, Brody stood up and yawned. "I better go." He said. I giggled. "We are pathetic." "We are." Brody said. I looked over and Chris was asleep. "I'll walk you out." I said. I followed Brody out to his car. He gave me a hug. "See you bright and early." He said. I nodded as I put my hands in my pockets. There was a cool breeze and my hands and nose got really cold. "Later, babycakes." He said as he got in his car. I watched him drive away and went back inside. Chris was sitting up on the couch. "I'm gonna go to bed." I said yawning. "You wanna come watch SNL with me?" He asked. "Um." He got up and walked over to me. "You don't have to." He said. "No, I'll watch with you. I might fall asleep though." I said. "It's okay." He said. "Be there in a sec." I said. I went to my bedroom and put some socks on. They were my lacrosse socks from high school, so they went up to my knees. They were black and white striped. I joined it for a week and sucked so bad that I quit. But, hey, I got some cute socks out of it! I giggled and went back to Chris' room. The show had already started. Luke Wilson was hosting. "Aw I love him." I said. "That reminds me. I got you this." He said reaching down on the floor next to the bed. I climbed into his bed with him and pulled the covers up to my kneck. "This." He said. I looked up. "Home Fries? You found it!" I said excited. I pushed the covers down and gave him a hug. "This is the best movie ever!" I said smiling. He smiled. "I can't beleive you found it." I said. I couldn't get the smile off my face. "Glad I could make your day." He said. "Chris, you totally made my day." I said. "Thank you. You're a sweetie." "You're welcome." He said. We scooted down under the covers at the same time. I set the movie down on the nightstand next to my side of the bed. He leaned over as soon as I layed back and started kissing me. "Wait, Chris." I said pulling away. "What?" He askd. "Do you have feelings for me?" I asked. He sighed and rolled onto his back staring at the ceiling. "Were you really jelous earlier?" I asked. "Yeah." "Why? Come on. You know how Brody and I act around eachother. He's like a brother to me." I said. "I know. I'm sorry." He said. "I guess I'm just kind of dreading the day I get replaced." "I don't see myself falling in love any time soon." I said. "No?" "No." I said. "What makes you ask if I have feelings for you?" "The way you kiss me." I said. "What do you mean?" "So passionatly." I said. "And amazing." I giggled. He smiled. "Well. . .?" He held his hands up. "What can I say? That's just the way I do it." I giggled. "Yeah, but you kiss me for a long time before you even start removing any clothing." I said. "I like kissing you." He said. "I hope so." I said. "Don't let me hurt you, Chris. I love you too much to let that happen." "I'm good. I promise." He said. "Okay." I said with a smile. I dozed off and woke back up several times. I didn't remember much of the show. When I woke up the next morning, Chris had already left for work. I got dressed, did my makeup and headed to work. I was the first one there. Brody was the one with the key. I pulled my cell phone out of my purse and started dialing his number as I noticed him walking up. "Oakland needs better transportation. That bus takes forever." He said as he unlocked the door. "Jake. Jesus. Havn't seen you in like two weeks." Brody said as Jake walked into the store behind me. "Yeah. I had mono." He said. "It sucked." "Whoa." Brody said stepping back. "I'm fine now. And I'm not contagious." He told him. We all walked to the back and clocked in. Right then, we heard Death Cab for Cutie start to play. "Sounds like Lindsey decided to show up for work too." I said. "Fucking Death Cab." Jake said. I laughed. "Better than AC/DC." I said glaring at Brody. Brody laughed. Lindsey walked into the room and clocked in. "We may just have a full staff today." I said. "Don't be a bitch, Blair." Lindsey said as she put her time card back in the slot where her name was. "Linds, you rock. Death Cab kicks ass." Brody said. "You goin to their show next weekend?" She asked him. "Of course." He answered smiling. She shrugged her shoulders. "Guess it's a date." She said. She left the room. "Fuck." Brody said. "What?" Jake asked. "Think she'd be much fun at a show?" Brody asked. I laughed. Lindsey was the bitch. She hated the world and everything in it. At least, that was what she wanted everyone to think. She had her hair dyed black with a purple stripe down both sides framing her face. She always wore very dark eye makeup and ussually black lipstick. "Only time will tell, man." Jake said. Brody sighed and left. Jake sat down on the couch sipping his coffee. "Hopefully I can get them to change it to the Misfits while we clean up." He said. "Maybe." I said. He laughed. He was the only Misfits fan in the morning crew. I had a feeling he would try to switch the cd while nobody was looking just to piss us all off. Jake was a really fun guy. He was very into the punk scene and it was more than obvious just by looking at him. He had black spikey hair and tattoos up and down both arms. He was always wearing some kind of band shirt with his dickies or plaid pants. "Hey guys." We heard. "Rob." I said excited. Rob was the funniest one of all of us. He was also very into the punk scene and actually played with a local Oakland punk band. He had a tall blue mohawk. Sometimes the color changed, but blue was his favorite color to dye it. As he clocked in, he started telling Jake some drinking story. I laughed and went out front. Lukas and Ariel were just walking in. "A full staff! Holy shit!" I said. Lukas jumped up over the front check out counter and went through the small stack of cd's next to the radio. He turned off Death Cab and put in Bouncing Souls, Bullying the Jukebox. We all sang along as we cleaned up and opened the store. Ariel, Brody and I took the front counter while everyone else found something to do to keep busy. Jake was ussually the one to take care of the budgeting, inventory and anything else that had to do with money and ordering music. I assumed he was in the back doing that. I leaned up against the counter as I watched Lukas start to go through the cd's in the Rock section with a notepad. He was starting a list of cd's that we were running low on or out of. It always helped when it came time to order more. Brody came up behind me and put his arms around me just as Lukas looked up at us. He laughed and went back to working. "Wet WILLIE!" Brody shouted. Ariel laughed as he licked his finger and put it in my ear. "GROSS!" I said wiping it. I hit him playfully in the arm. "Today is going to be a much better day." Ariel said. "Thank god." I said.
