"Why did you tell everyone about us almost hooking up?" Lukas asked when I stepped back up behind the registers.
"I'm so sorry. I don't know." I said. "I feel really bad."
"Brody's pissed at me about it still." He said.
"I don't know what my deal was." I said.
"I was only planning on having some fun with you cause you seem like a cool catch." He said.
I smiled.
"I apologize if I lead you on." He said. "And I shouldn't have given you alcohol, or got you drunk."
I felt a little hurt, but I knew I had hurt several people that last couple of weeks too, so I just accepted his apology.
"It's okay." I said.
He nodded and turned away.
"Staff meeting." Kevin said walking through the door. He turned the sign to closed and locked the door. He signaled for us to follow him. I went to the back and sat down on the couch. Jake sat down next to me. He smiled at me and winked. I just smiled back.
"We've got a lot to cover." Kevin said. "Things around here are getting too crazy. Jake, could you please take notes?"
Jake sighed and pulled a pen out of his pocket.
"First off, Rob is no longer a Tracks employee." He said. "Enya has decided to get on board and work with us full time. She will start that schedule on Monday."
"Wait a second. When did this happen?" Lukas said.
"As of this afternoon." He said.
"What happen?" Brody asked.
Kevin sighed. "Rob has checked himself into a rehab clinic and isn't sure when he will be back. I told him his job still stands if he wants to rejoin us here when he returns, but we don't know when or if that will happen."
"Rehab for what?" Ariel asked.
"I'm sorry, I can't share any more information with you." He said.
"Fuck." Lukas said.
Everyone looked at him. "Sorry." He said when he noticed we were all looking at him.
Kevin continued talking. "I'm going to put Enya and Ariel up at the registers next week." He said looking down at his clipboard. "Jake, I want you to train Enya."
"Cool." Jake said.
"She hasn't had much experience at the registers. I know they scare her, so break her in gently." He said.
"Gotcha." Jake said.
"Blair." He said looking at me.
I nodded.
"You're with Brody on delivery pickups and restocking the shelves with cd's." He said.
Brody put his hands on the back of his head and sighed. I smiled when I noticed his Garfield boxers sticking out of his pants. He put his arms down and sighed again.
"Dude, Kevin." Brody said.
"Yes?" Kevin asked.
"I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have a girl lifting boxes and such." He said.
"A girl can do just as much as you can, Brody." Kevin told him.
Brody just nodded. He looked really frustrated. The meeting went on forever and I was starting to doze off.
I heard clapping and sat up right away. Everyone looked excited about something and it confused me.
"What's goin on?" I whispered to Jake.
He looked at me and smiled. "I'm engaged." He said.
"What?" I asked. "When? Who?"
He laughed. "Andrea."
"Who is she?" I asked.
"I know it sounds crazy." He said smiling.
"You Nimrod." Brody said laughing. "I knew this was going to happen."
Jake laughed and he was blushing.
"Why have I not heard about her?" I asked pushing him playfully.
"Probably because he met her online." Kevin said with a smirk on his face.
"Celebration, celebration, celebration!" Ariel said excited.
"You brat." I told him as I gave him a hug.
"We met a few times. She came here to visit for a month on business and she was the most amazing girl I've ever met." He said smiling.
"Business?" Brody asked.
We all laughed.
"She's a realtor." He said. "Sometimes she has to travel though."
"Wow." I said.
"You can not stop smiling." Ariel teased.
"I think I'm gonna barf." Lindsey said.
Ariel walked over to her locker and pulled out her purse. "I'm going to go get some chapagne. This is just too much. Oh my god, Jake. Let me help plan your wedding. I am like, the best party planner ever." She giggled.
"We'll have to talk to Andrea." He said.
She giggled annoyingly and ran out of the store.
