"Rob?" I said softly. I sat up. I felt a hundred times better than earlier. I just felt really thirsty. I got up and went to the kitchen. Everything was dirty. I found a small cup in a cabinet that appeared clean. I just filled it with tap water and drank it quickly. I looked out the window and saw Rob. He was sitting in the grass smoking a cigarette. I noticed he was talking to someone on his phone too. I went out the back door and walked up to him. "You can't get me any tonight?" He said to the person on the phone. "Why? What the fuck. I need it tonight." He sighed and looked up, then noticed I was standing there. "I'll call you later." He said and put his phone in his pocket. "Hey." I said. I sat down next to him in the grass. "Are you quitting?" I asked. "Nah. To hell with Lukas and Brody, man." He said. "Maybe I'll move back to Chino. . . I don't know." "Hmm." I said. "What?" He asked. "What do I really have here?" I just shrugged. He smiled and put his arm around me. "I know. I know. I've got you and a great group of friends." I giggled. "I know you all mean well." He said. "But like I told you before, this is me." I just nodded and started fiddling with the grass. I ripped some out of the ground and broke it into tiny peices. He let go of me. "Mind if I take you back home now?" He asked. "How come?" "I'm gonna take a drive out to my old friend Lenny's." He said. "For drugs?" "Yeah. Tony can't help me today." He said. "Can't skip a day and hang out with me?" I asked smiling. "I guess I could. . ." He said not sounding thrilled about the idea. "Come on." I said standing up. "Let's go to the arcade." He laughed. "What?" "What? You're not a little boy like the rest of my friends?" I said. "I don't know. Sometimes I feel like. . . I don't know." He laughed. "It'll be fun. Let's go." I said. He stood up laughing. "Okay. . ." He said. We got in his car and drove to the big arcade near a small outdoor strip mall. He went right to the Marvel Vs. Capcom game. He looked excited as he dug through his pockets for change. I giggled and went to the change machine. I put ten dollars in and got a bunch of quarters. I stood behind him while he played the game for about twenty minutes. He wasn't losing, so I sat down at an old pacman game. We played games for a couple of hours, then sat down at the bar upstairs to get something to eat. He laughed shaking his head. "What?" I asked. "Nothing." He said smiling. "What?" I giggled. He shook his head again, still smiling. "What? Tell me." I said. "I just spent two hours playing Marvel Vs. Capcom." He said. "So." "So. . ." He said. "What?" I asked confused. "So, now I'm ready for deerugs." He said in a silly voice. "Movie." I blurted out. "What?" He laughed. "Let's go see a movie." I said. "I haven't seen one in a while." I picked up my purse and put it over my shoulder. He gave me a strange look. "Maybe another day." He said. He stood up and left a tip on the table. "Please? For me?" I said. He cleared is throat. "Yeah sure. What the hell." He said.
