Sarah said...

"Old School." He said laughing as he sat down next to me on the couch.
I giggled.
"Hey." He said.
"What?"
"Our lease will be up next month." He said.
"Again? It seems like we just renewed." I said.
"I know." He said. "Are we staying again?"
"Why wouldn't we?" I asked.
"I don't know. I was just double checking." He said.
"Of course I still want to stay here with you." I said.
He smiled. "Okay."
We snacked on Nachos while we watched the movie. When it was over, I was tired.
"Oh I didn't tell you. My appointment went good. I get my cast off tomorrow and I don't have to wear the bandages on my burn after next week." He said.
"Yay!" I said smiling.
"I think you need to fix things with Brody." He said.
I rolled my eyes.
"Do you love him?" He asked.
I sighed. "Of course."
"He keeps calling me to ask how you are doing." He said. "Why don't you give him a call?"
"No."
"You said you wanted my help. Right?" He said.
I nodded.
"So, I'm telling you. You will be happier if you fix things with him." He said.
I sighed and layed back into the couch.
"I know what I'm talking about." He said. "It's hard to quit doing drugs if there are things bothering you."
"I know."
"So, I think you should call him." He said.
"Okay." I said. I smiled and he smiled back. "I'm sorry. I'm trying my hardest to listen to you, because you really are helping."
He smiled. "Good. Baby, I don't mean to be a pest."
"I know." I smiled. I grabbed my phone and called Brody.
"Make sure he knows you need him." Chris whispered.
"Not strong enough to throw them away again?" He asked.
"Nope. They are still in my bathroom." I said.
"Figures." He said.
"Brody?"
"What?"
I looked at Chris and he smiled nodding. I rolled my eyes.
"I need you right now." I said.
"Why?"
"Because I need the people I love the most." I said trying not to cry.
"Yeah well, you have Chris." He said.
"I need more than just Chris." I said, hoping Chris wouldn't get offended.
He didn't say anything.
"I need you. I need you as a friend." I said. "I miss you."
"Tell me about Rob." He said.
"What about him?"
"You were spending a lot of time with him." He said.
"So?"
"So, tell me all about it." He said. "What made you start all this."
I sat down against the wall near the end table.
"I guess I was starting to get depressed." I said. "Every day was predictable."
"And what lead you to him?" He asked.
I smiled. "When he noticed I was upset, he would pull me to the side and talk to me about it. He was good at talking me through stuff." I said.
"And the drugs?"
"I had never tried them before and it seemed fun." I admited.
"Was it your choice? Or did he talk you into it?" He asked.
"It was my choice. He didn't want to even let me try anything." I said.
"But he gave in?"
"Yeah." I said, feeling very disapointed in myself.
"Did you sleep with him? I hear that adds to the experience." He said.
A tear dripped down my face. "Yes." I said.
"Well, that's nice." He said.
"I'm sorry."
"You confuse the shit out of me, Blair." He said. "I want to know why you slept with me."
"Because you're special to me and I love you." I said, starting to cry.
"Then what the hell are you doing with Chris?" He asked.
"Why don't you come pick me up and we can talk about this?" I suggested.
"Why? Is he sitting near you?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said looking up at Chris.
"Don't you think he has a right to know? He told me you weren't going to keep secrets from him anymore." He said.
I stood up. "I love him." I said. I placed my hand over my heart. "With all my heart. I love him so much." I walked over to Chris and started crying harder.
"Then stop fucking with me!" He shouted and hung up.
Chris hugged me. I threw the phone onto the floor.
