I had the day off after the concert, and decided to give Brody a call. I starting thinking I was going to have to make the first move. Brody seemed kind of oblivious. "Hey babe." He answered. "Hey, what's up?" I asked him. "Not much. I'm enjoying a nice day off." He said. "Do you want to enjoy it with me?" I asked him. "Yeah, sure!" He said, sounding excited. "I'll come pick you up. Bring your roller blades." I told him. "Awesome. I have done that in a long-ass time." He said. "Me either. It sounded fun. Let me get ready, and I'll pick you up in an hour." I told him. "Sounds good." He said, and we both hung up. I got ready, found my roller blades and drove out to his mom's to pick him up. He was sitting outside smoking. When he saw me pull up he put out his cigarette and got in. "Eww. Smoker." I said, and held my nose. He just laughed and buckled his seatbelt. "Yeah, yeah. I don't do it that often anymore." He said. "Well, it still stinks!" I told him, and laughed. I drove us to the park so we skate along the concrete paths. "Just so you know, I'm not great at this." I told him. "What? I don't believe that." He said, standing up on his blades. I was still putting mine on. "Slow poke!" He said, and started skating in circles. "SHUT UP!" I shouted, trying to get my left one on. I finaly got it on and stood up, then almost fell over. "Whoa!" Brody said, catching me. "Steady girl." "I told you I wasn't very good at this." I said, and he helped me steady myself. "You are just fine babycakes." He said. While he was holding me I kissed him real quick on the lips, and he smiled. "Want some more of that?" I asked him. "Yeah." He said, and leaned in to kiss me. I pushed him back and skated off, laughing. "HEY! I thought you weren't good at this!" He shouted after me. I turned my head and shouted back at him. "I LIED!!" "I'M SO GETTING YOU FOR THAT!" He said, and skated after me. I skated away laughing. He chased me for a little while, before I let him catch up to me. When he did, he grabbed my arm, and I spun around and stopped. "Playing hard to get?" He asked. "So, you aren't clueless after all?" I asked. "Clueless?" "Yeah, clueless." I said, and kissed him. "EWWWWWWW!" Someone shouted. We looked up and a little girl was yelling at us. Brody and I laughed and skated away holding hands. We skated around for a while before we started getting tired and decided to call it a day and get some slushes from the ICEE tent. We sat down on a bench to eat them and watch people walking by. "So, am I really clueless?" Brody asked me. "Yeah, you are. I can never tell if you are really into me or not." I told him. "I am." He said. "Really?" I asked. "Yeah. I never know exactly what to do though." He said. "Just be you. You used to flirt like crazy." I told him, and giggled. "I know, but that was different." He said. "How?" I asked. "It just was." He said, looking embarassed. "Okay, I'll drop it." I told him. He just smiled and took another bite of his slushy. "We should watch a movie." I told him. "I'm up for a movie." He said. "Empire Records, my place. Come on." I told him, and stood up. "We work in a record store." He said. "I know. We can compare people to the characters. Come on." I said, getting excited. "Okay!" He said, laughing and followed me to the car.
