Christina said...

"Blair." Chris said.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Your going to have to make a choice soon." He said.
"What?" I asked.
"If you want to be with me, or Brody, or anyone right now." He said.
"A Choice? What do you mean?" I asked.
"You are hurting Brody. I'm pretty sure he thought you guys we becoming an item. To be honest, I'm confused about how you feel about me sometimes." Chris said. I started to get mad.
"Don't worry about any of that right now. Right now just worry about getting things back together.
"Maybe I don't want things back together." I said.
"What?" Chris asked.
"Never mind." I said, and burried my head in his chest. He pulled the blanket down from the back of the couch and put it over me.
"No one will talk to me at work." I blurted out.
"What?" Chris asked.
"No one! The whole day went by, and no one said a word to me. Even If I smiled or said hi to them." I said.
"Do they know what happened?" He asked me.
"I guess so." I said.
"Don't worry about them. I'm sure tomorrow things will be a little more normal. They might just be unsure of what to say to you." He said.
"Stupid." I mumbled. Chris kissed the top of my head.
"I'm tired." I said.
"Come on. We'll go to bed." He said, and we walked back to his room. We curled up in bed watching south park. I waited for him to fall asleep, and then quietly snuck out of bed and into the bathroom. I pulled the baggie out of the drawer and held it up. I wanted it so bad. I opened it, and started to pour it out onto the counter. Before I did, I flung it into the toilet and flushed it down. Then I started crying. I opened the door and Chris was standing there.
"Did you do it?" He asked, looking disapointed.
"No. I flushed it." I said. He studied me. I could tell he was trying to look at my eyes, and to see if my nose was red.
"I FLUSHED IT! I couldn't stand having it around anymore!" I said.
"I'm sorry." He said, and followed me back to my room. I fell asleep right away.
The next day at work Brody and Lukas still wouldn't talk to me. Everyone else was nicer though. I guess they realized I wasn't crazy or anything. I got excited when I saw Jake. He was off the day before, and I hadn't seen him for a while.
"Hey." He said when he saw me walk into the back.
"Hey." I said, and hugged him.
"How are you?" He asked.
"Better." I said. "Do you know to?" I asked.
"Yeah. Brody can keep his mouth shut, but Lukas can't. Brody stood up for you though." Jake said.
"He did?" I asked.
"Yeah. He threatened to kick Lukas' ass if he didn't stop talking about you and Rob." He told me.
"He wont talk to me." I sighed.
"Give him time." Jake said.
"How are you holding up?" I asked him.
"Not bad. I havn't seen my mom or dad since...well you know." He said.
"Have you heard from Rob now that he is in rehab?" He asked.
"Uh...yeah. I guess I have." I said.
"How is he?" Jake asked.
"He is a liar." I said. "But I guess he is okay."
"Ouch. Well I hope you are okay Blair. You're a good kid." He said, and smiled. I smiled back and then walked out front. Ariel had called in, so I had to work the counter with Lukas. Something I was not looking forward to. I said Hi to him, but he ignored me and kept reading his comic.
"Okay. If we are going to work together we need to attempt to get a long. You don't have to like me or be my friend Lukas, but this isn't going to work." I told him. He looked up at me.
"Fine." He said. "How are you?" He asked. I rolled my eyes and counted the drawer.
"Rob had quit before he met you!" He said, slamming shut the comic book.
"What? He had not. He just told you that!" I said.
"Whatever." Lukas said.
"It's true! God." I said, slamming shut the drawer.
"He's not really in rehab, is he?" Lukas asked.
"What?" I asked. He sighed.
"I know he's not." He said.
"No. He's not. But I didnt' tell you that." I told him.
"Where is he at?" He asked me.
"He was at a friends...the one where he gets his drugs. I thought he was in rehab too. I only ran into him by mistake." I said.
"Fucking idiot." Lukas said.
"Lukas, I'm sorry if I've done anything to piss you off. I havn't been myself lately." I told him.
"I'm sorry I've been a huge asshole." He said, and opened his comic again. I just left it that. We didn't say much the rest of the day. At lunch I followed Brody out back.
"What?" He asked, lighting up a cigarette.
"I'm sorry. Brody, I've been confused about everything lately." I told him.
"Yeah, me too." He said.
"Thank you." I told him.
"What?" He asked confused.
"For sticking up for me." I told him. He just shrugged and didn't say anything. I sighed and walked back inisde.
