Sarah said...

"Damnit!" I shouted.
Lukas jumped. "Jesus!" He said.
"I'm sorry."
"What is it?" He asked.
"I just realized Chris' birthday is today." I said.
"Okay. . . the day isn't over. . ." He said.
"We have traditions." I said. "Trust me, I blew it."
"You guys have a strange friendship." He said.
"Damnit." I said again under my breath.
"Can I help?" He asked.
"Here you go." I heard Brody say. I turned around and he handed me the two movies Jake owed me. "Jake had them sent here, the just came in."
"Thanks." I said.
"You're not excited?" He asked.
"Yes I am." I said. I grabbed them and walked to my locker. I stuffed them in my purse and went back out to the front.
"Okay. . ." Brody said, then walked away.
"What was the tradition?" Lukas asked.
"Vanilla ice Cream with Bananas on top." I said.
He looked at his watch. "I don't get how it's too late for that." He said.
"It's our breakfast." I said.
He gave me a strange look. "Yeah. . . you definatly have a strange friendship." He said.
"What the hell do I do?" I asked.
"Bring him one after work. . ." Lukas said as if it was no big deal.
"I wasn't talking to you." I said. "I was thinking out loud."
"Are okay today?" He laughed. "You talk about him and it sounds like you are talking about your husband."
"Yeah right." I said feeling offended.
He laughed. "Okay then. Whatever you say." He said.
I rolled my eyes. He walked up behind me. He leaned down. "We didn't sleep together, because you're basically married." He whispered in my ear, then jumped over the counter and walked to the back.
"Excuse me?" I said annoyed.
"Enya." I said.
She looked up at me. She was pulling some old fliers out of the stacks on the front shelves.
"Cover the counter for a second." I said. She started to look nervous. "Or. . . call the back if a customer comes. . ." I said. Enya annoyed me so much. She was always too nervous to do anything. She was terified of the registers.
"Okay." She said softly. She was staring at the floor. I sighed and went to the back. "You think THAT'S why we didn't sleep together?" I asked getting angry.
A lot of the staff was back there and looked at me. "Blair." Lukas said softly.
"It wasn't because Rob walked in on us?" I asked with frustration as I pointed at Rob.
"Whoa, don't blame me." Rob said.
Brody stormed out of the store. "I'm not talking about this right now." Lukas whispered to me.
"We're not? You brought it up." I said.
"What the fuck is with you?" He asked. "You're fucking crazy. You don't say two words to me for like fucking forever, now you're fucking yelling at me? What the fuck."
"Take a break." I heard Kevin say. He was looking at Lukas. "Everyone else get to work. Rob, go find Brody. Tell him to take over Blair's register. Make sure he counts the cash first. Blair, my office." He said.
Lindsey made a stupid high pitched noise like I was in trouble. I follwed him to his office and he closed the door. It made me nervous, because he had blinds covering all of his windows.
"Do you remember how to order music?" He asked. He sat down in his chair behind his desk. I sat down on the chair next to his.
"Yeah I think so." I said.
"Blair, I want to apologize for my behavior yesterday." He said.
"It's okay." I said.
He smiled. "Good."
I still felt nervous and very uncomfortable. He handed me the order forms and a list of cd's the store was low on. "Go ahead and order some of this local stuff." He said. He stood up. "I left Rob in charge of the store." He lifted his arms in the air and stretched letting out a weird sound.
"Okay." I said.
"I'll be back at the store around Five or so." He said.
"Okay." I said.
He left the office. He left the door open. I didn't know why I was getting so angry about everything.
"Hey." I heard. I looked up. Ariel was standing in the doorway smiling.
I just smiled.
"I wanted to invite you to The Blue Room for my birthday on Saturday." She said. The smile on her face was annoying me. "We're getting a limo, so if you give me your address, we can come pick you up too."
I sighed.
"It'll be a great time and I know you could use a break from everything." She said.
"I do." I said. "What is The Blue Room?"
"It's a fancy dance club." She said. "You won't have to pay the cover. It's all on me. Well, my Dad." She giggled.
"Okay." I said, starting to feel a little excited about it. I wrote down my address and gave it to her.
"Right now." She said smiling. I watched her walk out of the office shaking her butt. I laughed and shook my head. I was nothing like any of the girls that worked there.
