Chapter Sixty-Nine

As soon as work was over I rushed to the store and then home. I dished out some ice cream, and diced up some bananas just before Chris walked in the door.
"Hey Blair." Chris said, and set his stuff down on the coffee table. He walked in the kitchen.
"What is this?" He asked.
"For your birthday." I told him.
"Blair, are you okay?" He asked, and laughed.
"Yeah, why?" I asked.
"My birthday is tomorrow sweetheart." He said, laughing.
"What? No it isn't, today is the 13th." I said.
"Blair, today is the 12th." He said, and took a dish of ice cream, and took a bite.
"What? No it isn't!" I said, and pulled out my phone. I looked up the calendar. It was the 12th.
"Oh my god! I totaly freaked out because I thought I missed your birthday!" I said, starting to feel upset.
"Blair, it's okay. We can do stuff together tomorrow." He said, setting his ice cream down, and hugging me.
"It's not! I just flipped out at Brody and Lukas at work, and I freaked out because I thought I forgot your birthday, and I felt so bad, and now it's not even your birthday, and everything is just so FUCKING crazy right now." I said, crying.
"Shhhhh. Babe, it's okay." He said, rubbing my back.
"I'm sorry. I keep losing lately." I told him.
"Lets eat our ice cream, and relax a little. Then you can take a bubble bath, and have a glass of champagne." He said.
"Or, WE could take a bubble bath." I said, and he smiled.
"That would totaly make up for you forgetting my imaginary birthday." He said, and I giggled. We grabbed our ice cream and sat down on the couch. Wheel of Fortune was on, so we watched that and made fun of the people on it. When it was over I went to the bathroom and started a bath. I found some bubbles and put them in. Chris walked in a second later with two glasses of champagne. I turned the water off and we both undressed and climbed in. Chris had his back to the wall, and I was sitting with my back leaning against his chest.
"Feel better?" He asked.
"Much better." I said. He finished his glass, and set it down on the floor. Then he pushed me forward a little and started rubbing my shoulders.
"You are too stressed out Blair." He said.
"I know. Things are just so damn insane. With work, and my family, and my fucked up social life." I said.
"It's not fucked up." He said.
"Yes it is." I said, and sighed.
"Don't think about that right now, okay. Just relax." He said, and kissed the back of my neck.
"Just think about how much fun we are going to have on my real birthday." He said. I smiled, and layed back aganst him. We sat there for a while, until we both started feeling really warm and decided to get out. After we dried off, we walked out to the living room in our towels. I put it in one of my new Luke Wilson movies, and we curled up together on the couch to watch it.
