Chapter Eighty-Two

I sighed as I climbed out of bed.
"Hey, I wasn't done teasing you." Chris said.
"You stay in bed for a while. I'm going to make something to eat." I said.
"Aww."
I turned on Friends for him and went to the kitchen. I looked at my phone and noticed I had a missed call from Rob. "Shit." I said to myself. I didn't call him back. I made some waffles in the toaster and put them on a plate. I threw some strawberries on it and brought it back to Chris. I went back to the kitchen and poured a big glass of milk for us to share.
"You're the best." He said smiling.
"I know." I giggled. "Do you want to go to the park after we eat?"
"Sure." He said.
I smiled. "Cool."
We ate our breakfast and I helped him get cleaned up and dressed. He layed down on the couch watching TV while I got ready. "Are you getting paid for your time off?" I asked as I walked into the living room.
"Yeah." He said.
"Okay." I said. "Just making sure we're not both screwed."
He laughed. "You're not screwed. Stop."
"Sure. . ." I said.
We walked outside and I locked the door. The weather was perfect. We walked down the street to the small playground that was in the Elementary School. He sat down at a bench near the swings and I sat down on a swing. "Come sit." I said.
He got up and walked over to the swing. He sat down on the one next to me. "I can't beleive I fucked up both of my arms." He said. "I can't even hug you."
I laughed. "That's what you get for being a butthead."
"Blair, I'm so sorry." He said.
"It's fine. I'm over it. I swear." I said. "You had every reason to be upset."
"No. No, Blair. I didn't. Maybe about Brody, but I shouldn't have brought that up." He said. "I was drunk and horny. I just wanted you."
"And you could have." I said.
"I know. Instead I acted like a jerk." He said. "And I sent you off with a drug addict."
"Chris." I said sternly.
"What?" He asked. "I feel bad. I shouldn't upset you so much that you want to go run off and do drugs."
"He's not a drug addict." I said.
He just nodded. "Okay."
"He's not."
"Okay. Okay." He said.
We both got quiet for a few minutes. I just enjoyed the breeze.
"What kind of drugs does he do?" He asked.
"Can we drop this?"
"Yeah." He said irritably.
I jumped off the swing. "Let's go back." I said.
He followed behind me. "I didn't mean to upset you." He said softly.
"You didn't." I said.
He sighed and grabbed my arm. "Fuck." He said shaking his hand after letting go of me. I turned around. "I just don't want you to hurt yourself."
"I'm not."
"Okay." He said. "I beleive you. I trust you."
"Good."
"We don't have to leave though." He said.
"Well, I want to." I said.
He walked slowly behind me. I went inside and grabbed my phone. I stepped outside. I passed Chris on the stairs. He had a sad look on his face and didn't say anything to me. I sat down at a bench by the vending machines and called Rob.
