Ring. Ring. Ring.
"Pick up Brody." I said. I was calling to tell him I was canceling for the next night.
"HEY!" He shouted, finaly answering.
"Hey." I laughed.
"You ready for tomorrow?" He asked.
"Uh, about tomorrow." I said. I paused because I wasn't sure what to say. I felt horrible for canceling.
"Joe can't go. So it's you and me babe." He said, sounded excited.
"Oh, really?" I asked. That had been the main reason I didn't want to go.
"Yeah. So what about tomorrow?" He asked.
"Nothing, I'm just exicted!" I told him. I really was. I figured Lukas would just have to take someone else.
"Me too hot stuff. I think you'll really like these guys." He said.
"I better." I told him.
"You will. Even if you don't, you will still have the night of your life with me." He said.
"That so hot shot?" I asked.
"Oh yeah. I'm a lady killer." He said, and I started laughing.
"I'm funny tonight. Well, I gotta go. I promised my mom I would help her cook dinner." He said.
"How sweet." I said.
"I know. Later babeycakes." He said, and hung up. I just laughed.

The next morning I made sure I got to work early. I didn't want Kevin to be mad at me for anything.
"Early bird." Lukas said when I walked in the back.
"Hey." I said.
"So, Simple Plan?" He asked. "Come on, you know you want this to yourself." He said, pretending to flex his arms. I laughed. He had no idea!
"Aw, I do. BUT, I can't bail on a friend. As much as I want to go, I can't ditch Brody tonight." I said.
"Damn." He said.
"I'm sorry!" I told him.
"It's cool. We'll hang out another time." He said, and patted my shoulder as he walked out front. I giggled and clocked in. The rest of the day went great! Kevin wasn't in that day, so I didn't have to worry about him. Before it was time to leave I checked to make sure I had the next day off. I did. Brody did too.
"So, you ready?" Brody asked, and hugged me from behind.
"I'm so ready." I said. "Well, minus the outfit I'm going to be wearing, and the hot make up." I told him, and he laughed.
"Are you going to go home and change first?" He asked.
"Yeah." I told him.
"Cool. I get off in an hour. I'll pick you up when I'm done." He said.
"You'll pick me up?" I asked.
"Yeah. I borrowed my mom's car." He said.
"Alright. I'll see you in an hour." I said, and turned around and hugged him. I said good bye and then drove home so I could get ready.
