"Is it okay if Sarah joins us for dinner? She already found a babysitter in her complex, so she's baby-free." Chris said from the bathroom. I could hear his electric shaver running. I slipped on my jeans and grabbed my shirt. I walked to the bathroom. "Yes, of course that's fine. It's your birthday, silly." I said smiling. He turned off his shaver and set it down. He leaned over and kissed me. I smiled and put my shirt on. I went to the kitchen and quickly scooped our ice cream. Chris walked out with his shirtless holding a hanger with a nice shirt on it. "Afraid of getting ice cream on your shirt?" I asked. "What?" He asked. I pointed to the shirt on the hanger. "No. I don't want it get wrinkled. I'll put it on when I get to work." He said. "You're silly." I said. "No. You're silly." He said in a silly voice mocking me. He laughed. We were running a little late, so we scarfed down the ice cream and left to work with little headaches. It made me laugh. I got into work much happier. I went to the back and clocked in. I could hear yelling in the office. "YOU TELL ME IF YOU'RE IN TROUBLE!" I heard Kevin shout. "You DO NOT steal money from the register!" "Good Morning." Rob said walking in. "Whoa." He stopped and listened to the yelling. "Weird." I said. "Who's he yelling at?" He asked. He clocked in. "I have no idea." I said. I went to the copy room and unlocked the cabinet. I grabbed my cash insert and went out to the front. Lindsey came storming out of the back crying. "Are you okay?" I asked her. She continued to walk fast and left. Rob walked out looking traumatized. "Take the register." I told him. I ran out of the store. I saw Lindsey walked down the street. I ran after her and cought up to her. "Lindsey, what happen?" I asked. "Your boyfriend is a dick." She said. "I don't have a boyfriend." I said. "Brody." She said. "What did he do?" "I asked him for money to pay for my gas, because I was short some." She said. "He told me to take a little out of the safe." "What?" I asked mad. "He said he did it before and just put it back. He said it would be fine." She sobbed. "Did he fire you or something?" I asked. "No." She said shaking her head. "I just got an earfull." "I'm sorry. He shouldn't have told you to do something like that." I said. "He almost got in trouble." She just shrugged. "Do you need a ride somewhere?" I asked. "I only live a few blocks away. I'd rather just walk." She said wiping her eyes. "If you ever need a ride or some cash, just let me know." I said. "Right." She said. "Now you want to be my friend." "I'll leave that up to you." I said. "Yeah like it's really hard for you to make friends." She said. "It is." "Yeah. Right. A pretty girl like you. Real hard, I'm sure." She said sarcastically in a rude tone. "It is VERY hard for me!" I shouted. I turned around and walked back to the store. I walked up to the register where Rob was. "She thinks she knows everyone, but she doesn't know shit." I said. "Who?" Rob asked. "Lindsey." I said. "Screw her." "Can I talk to you for second?" He asked. I sighed. Lukas walked in the door. "Seriously, in the back." Rob said. I nodded and followed him to the back out the door to the delivery area. We sat down against the wall. He lit up a cigarette, then offered me one. "No thanks." I said. "Okay, so talk to me. Let it all out." He said. "What?" "You havn't been acting like yourself." He said. "Sweet quiet little Blair." "All kinds of crap is going on." I said. "Anything I can help you with?" He asked. "Or help you through." "What do you do to stay so calm all the time? And you are always happy." I said. "I don't let myself get worked up about stuff." He said. He held his cigarette out to me. I just shook my head. "Alright." He said. "It's what calms me the most." "It's not healthy." I said. "Nope. It's not." He said. "I'll quit before I'm thirty." I smiled. "Sure you will." "Eh. We'll see." He said. "That can't be all that calms you down." I said. He sighed. "Yeah. . ." We looked at eachother. "Nothing you need to be getting into." "What if I want to?" I asked. "You don't." He said. He stood up and threw what was left of his cigarette on the ground. I stood up next to him. "You should stay drug free. It's killin my brain cells." He laughed. I just looked at him. He laughed again. "What?" "Nothing." I smiled. "You're turning into a bad girl with bad thoughts." He said pointing at me. "Eh." I said like he always does and giggled. "I think about doing lots of stuff, but I never actually do it." "Keep it that way." He said. "You're a good girl. In my opinion it's hot." He smiled at me and went inside. I sighed and went back in too.
